A basement dig-out which lowered the floor by 600mm, creating a better proportioned room with fewer plasters needed for tall visitors.
The floor is polished concrete with 'cast in situ' underfloor heating. This has freed up more wall space for the steam punk shaker kitchen.
The work was arduous , our masters cruel and uncaring. Food and water denied to us as hunger fuelled our tortured muscles. We slaved three, four, five hours a day - defeated only by the blistering sun and our blistered hands.
Eventually, several years later and weened off the high quality tea and cakes, we can look back on another over engineered project with nothing but extreme happiness

After much negotiation with the passport office, partners and friends it was agreed that Camden wasn't that far from Brixton after all.
A large, top to bottom and ultimately very colourful project, embracing oversized universal beams, candy box parquet and a climbing wall for children who can frankly just stay outside.
